When you’re shopping online, what’s the first thing you look at? That’s right – customer reviews. Does it have two stars or five? six reviews or 600? What are most people saying about it?
In a Pew Research survey, 82% of people said they read customer reviews before making a purchase. That’s an overwhelming majority! Positive reviews are a great way to attract customers and increase your company’s revenue.
But how do you get those awesome reviews in the first place?
#1 – Ask Your Customers
Busy customers are unlikely to go out of their way to leave a review unless you ask for it. Follow up with your customers after a successful move and ask them to leave a review if they were happy with the experience (you can do this automatically with Oncue!)
Send them the link directly so it’s easy for them to leave a positive review, and make sure to respond to let them know you appreciate them taking the time to leave feedback.
#2 Join Referral Websites
Make it easy for your customers to leave a review by signing up to as many of the leading review websites as you can. Yelp and Home Advisor are great ones to get started with. The more accessible your company is on these platforms, the more appealing leaving a review will seem to the customer.
Although many customers nowadays leave reviews on Facebook or Google, be sure to also sign up for these leading review websites as our data shows they are still an important part of the decision-making process.
#3 – Simplify The Review Process
Make it as easy as possible for satisfied customers to leave a review. You can do this by including links on your website, social media pages, and in your emails. This will also help prospective customers find you – more reviews will increase traffic to your website and help you show up in search results, ultimately giving you more leads and more customers.
#4 Send Online Surveys
You can send these to both past and present customers. You can also upload a survey to your social media and website so that customers can access it at any time. Remember to keep it short! No one wants to spend half an hour on a complicated questionnaire.
#5 Make the Most of Social Media
Use Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to engage regularly with your customers. You can use social media to answer customer questions and also encourage them to give feedback.
#6 – Use The Reviews You Have
Social proof can be one of the most powerful marketing tools at your disposal. Customers can be swayed by a positive review, so make sure you’re promoting the great reviews that previous customers have left on your social media channels and website. Including a quote from a satisfied customer in your personal email signoff or your automated email replies can reiterate the fact that your existing customers have been delighted with their experience.
#7 Encourage Word Of Mouth
When a friend or family member recommends a product, people are more inclined to trust that product and invest in it. Having satisfied customers recommend your moving company to their circle creates a world of potential leads!
