Tips for a Successful Boosted Facebook Post

As we continue to work on growing our own online presence and building a social media following, we saw it fitting to share with you our best tips for succesfully boosting your Facebook posts.

One of the main goals for marketing on Facebook is to share your message and attract ideal clients. Capturing the attention of those clients is a vital part of growing your business.

A simple way for you to reach potential clients is to boost your Facebook posts.

At Oncue, we love to help you grow your business!

So, here’s our top tips we found helpful when boosting Facebook posts:

1. Have a Goal and Develop a Plan

Facebook makes it really easy to publish a post and just click the “boost” button. But, without a plan, chances are your boost won’t bring in the results you’d like.

Ask yourself:

What are you hoping to achieve with your boosted post?

Whether you’re looking to get in front of new clients, increase post engagements (likes, shares, comments), or promote new offers – you need a plan! Boosting costs money. Make sure you’re spending it wisely and effectively.

2. Create a Custom Audience

Facebook gives you three options when choosing an audience for your boosted post.

  • People who like your page and their friends: best for posts regarding important updates in your service that you want those already familiar with your company to be aware of.
  • People similar to people who like your page: use this if you’re going for a broader scale and trying to get more customers with similar characteristics to your existing followers.
  • People you choose through targeting: you can choose the people you want to show your boosted post to based on their location, age, gender and interests. You can also create a specific name for this audience and use it in the future if you write about similar subject matters.

3. Choose the Right Post

Use a high quality image or video!

When boosting a post, especially to users who may not be familiar with your company, the image will be the first thing they see so it needs to be eye catching and engaging.

How do you know if a post has performed well enough to boost?

Check post results on the Insights Tab on your Facebook business page. Here you’re able to tell which posts have the highest engagement rate that would be worth boosting.
