CEO Kate DeWald Featured On CMSA’s Women On The Move Panel
Earlier this month, Oncue CEO Kate DeWald spoke at the prestigious California Moving & Storage Association (CMSA) 2022 Women On The Move Panel. The event, which took place in-person in the South San Francisco Conference Center, was held in honor of Women’s History Month.
The panel included Sally Bolger from Grace Moving Company, Darcy Aman Quinn from A&P Moving Inc, Griselda Gonzalez from CG Moving Co, and Casey Myers from Champion Risk & Insurance. Kate and the other female moving industry leaders discussed practical tips for achieving success in the industry, shared personal anecdotes, and examined the experience of being a woman in moving.
“I will admit I was a bit starstruck by the other women – they are all accomplished individuals in their field and care deeply about paving the way for others,” DeWald said.
Among the event’s attendees were fellow Oncue leaders Falisse Frazier (VP of Engineering), Audrey Donaldson (VP of Product Management), Khusboo Shah (Senior Product Manager), and Vickie Chapman (Onboarding and Success Specialist).
“It was inspiring to have so many of our female leaders join,” said DeWald. “Having women in my corner cheering for me made me more relaxed and helped me realize the importance of this event.”
The panel covered a variety of important topics, from how to make time for yourself (one panelist coaches basketball in her free time) to some actionable items you could implement the next day. According to DeWald, it’s crucial to continue having events such as this in order to empower more women in the industry.
“When women see other women in the industry, it gives them the inspiration to think, ‘I can do that!’, and we need more women to think that and then do it!”
